The concept of interior designing is the art of not only decorating a particular room but to make the full use of the dead corners and spaces, so that it looks good, is easy to use and function wells with the existing architecture. Let's explore some of the many of the ways to add personality to a corner. Here are some of the design elements that can add life to a dead corner.

There are endless possibilities for decorating themes. Ideally a themed corner will define something about you, your family, or the place you live. It also provides a place to showcase collections, themed items, or art and crafts.

1. An old piece of furniture can add texture and depth to a room. If you are starting out, consider a weathered pine table or chest. If you want color, look for a painted bookshelf or an armoire.
2. One can install shelves, cabinets and drawers under the stairs which will reclaim some unused space just lying unnoticed for years. The shelves could be used for decorative displays while the cabinets could be utilized as storage for everyday items.
3. A corner cabinet or hanging cupboard is a handsome solution and adds needed storage and display areas as well.
4. Whether you have shells, miniature houses, candlesticks or boxes, it is often most effective to display them in an arrangement. - When arranging your collections, beware of just lining things up in a row, especially small items. Instead, group several together. Place small things on a tray and use the group as one element in a table arrangement.
5. When displaying a collection of family photos it works best to have a similar framing material (such as all silver or all brass frames) even if the individual frames vary in style from one another.
